LG DVR PRODUCT PLASMA INFO

Currently, there are two different types of flat screen TVs: Plasma TV and

Both Plasma and LCD can produce beautiful images, but they have different characteristics. One is not necessary better than the other.

It is a personal preference as to the type of image you want to see, along with the size and cost factor. Compare the two side by side in the store to see what you like best. Plasma screens have a tendency to show reflections.

Plasma was the first flat large screen TV. They tend to have higher contrast with deeper blacks and more color depth.

A plasma screen is not the same as a computer screen like the LCD. An LCD screen uses backlighting for its illumination and plasma screens are self-lit, which produces a far brighter picture.

Plasma technology has a better picture quality in normal to low room lighting compared to an LCD.

During nighttime viewing, plasma technology is better. The color quality and uniformity closely matches that of a cinematic movie. If you love going to the movies, you may prefer plasma to an LCD.

A plasma screen is capable of displaying high definition TV (HDTV), regular TV, and home video. It can also be used as a computer monitor and is capable of doing everything a regular computer monitor can do, just bigger and better.

If you want a big screen TV but don’t want to fill your room with a box-type rear projection television, then a plasma set is a good idea. They come in sizes up to 70 inches, and Panasonic has produced a gigantic plasma television that is 150 inches”.

A couple of negatives: A plasma TV is more susceptible to burn-in than LCDs, they generate more heat, and they do not perform well in high altitudes.
